Claire Yates

Name: Claire Yates - Governor

Committee: Improving Standards

I am currently the class teacher for Year 4 and subject co-ordinator of Maths and Computer Science. I consider every child to be unique and have their own individual areas of interest and skill that must be recognised and nurtured. All children need to be in an environment in which they are looked after and challenged at an appropriate pace, ensuring that they are moving along on their personal learning journeys at the best speed for them. Since being a teacher I have remained mindful of factors that can affect children’s learning, investigated these further through my Masters in Education and have applied this practice within my teaching.

Whilst working there, I had experience in teaching pupils of all ages although the majority of my years were spent with year 2. I also held the positions of Assistant Head and as Literacy Co-ordinator for many years These roles provided me with a wealth of experience and understanding in the many aspects of school life.
